TYGLY Graded Face Cloths | Frequently Asked Questions

The Grading System

What is a graded face cloth?

A graded face cloth is a cloth made from a specific fabric to create a defined level of texture. TYGLY produces five grades, each using a different fabric construction. Grade 1 is the softest. Grade 5 is the most textured. Each grade is designed to match a different skin need or cleansing preference.

What is the difference between each grade?

Each grade uses a different fabric to create a distinct texture level.

Grade 1 — Bamboo-cotton blend. The softest grade. For delicate or sensitive skin.

Grade 2 — Soft 2-ply muslin. A gentle step up. Light cleansing with a little more grip.

Grade 3 — Cotton muslin. Balanced for everyday cleansing.

Grade 4 — Heavy etamine cotton. More structure for controlled exfoliation.

Grade 5 — Dobby waffle. The most textured grade. For a deeper exfoliating experience.

Which grade is right for me?

If you are new to TYGLY, the Discovery Box is the best starting point. It contains one cloth of each grade so you can try all five and identify which texture suits your skin. Most customers then reorder their preferred grade or grades as a full box.

If you already know your skin responds well to gentle cleansing, start with Grade 1 or 2. If you prefer more texture or use your cloth for exfoliation, start with Grade 4 or 5. Grade 3 is the reference point — balanced, everyday texture.

Can I use different grades on different days?

Yes. That is the intention behind the system. Your skin does not feel the same every day. Some days it needs a lighter touch. Other days it can take more texture. The grading system is designed to give you that range.

Do I need all five grades?

No. Most customers settle on one or two grades that suit their skin and cleansing routine. The Discovery Box helps you identify which those are.

Product Care

How do I wash my TYGLY cloths?

Machine wash at 40°C with similar colours. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry. Do not bleach. Do not iron.

Will the cloths change texture over time?

The cloths will soften naturally with use and washing. This is normal and expected. Each grade will retain its distinct texture level relative to the others. Replace when the fabric shows visible wear or loses structure.

How many times can I use a cloth before washing it?

We recommend rinsing the cloth after each use and washing it regularly. As a cloth that contacts your face and skin, frequent washing is good practice.

Materials & Certifications

What are the cloths made from?

Each grade uses a different fabric. All fabrics are GOTS-certified organic cotton or a certified organic blend. The bamboo-cotton blend used in Grade 1 is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. All grades meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification requirements.

What does GOTS-certified mean?

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. It is the leading international certification for organic fibres, covering both the farming of raw materials and the manufacturing process. GOTS certification means the cotton used in TYGLY cloths is grown without harmful pesticides and processed under strict environmental and social standards.

What does OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 mean?

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certifies that every component of a textile — fabric, thread, fastenings — has been tested for harmful substances. A certified product has been verified as safe for skin contact.

Are the cloths sustainable?

The fabrics are certified organic. The packaging uses rigid cardboard that is widely recycled. The cloths are designed to be washed and reused rather than disposed of after a single use.
