Grade 3 — Cotton Muslin. Balanced for everyday use.

Grade 3 sits in the middle of the TYGLY graded system. It offers a comfortable level of texture — enough grip for effective cleansing, without feeling rough or overly gentle.

This is the grade for skin that feels neither particularly sensitive nor in need of deeper exfoliation. Cotton muslin provides a clean, straightforward cleansing experience.

 

What makes Grade 3 distinct

Cotton muslin has a soft, slightly textured weave. It's absorbent, dries quickly, and maintains structure without feeling heavy. The texture is present but not assertive.

Grade 3 works for daily cleansing when your skin feels balanced. It removes makeup, cleanser residue, and surface oils without requiring extra pressure or multiple passes.

 

When to use Grade 3

Use Grade 3 when your skin feels normal. Not overly dry, not overly oily. No heightened sensitivity, but not particularly dull either.

This grade suits most skin types on most days. It's the reference point in the graded system — neither the lightest touch nor the deepest texture.

Many customers keep Grade 3 as their default and move to Grade 1 on sensitive days or Grade 5 when they want more exfoliation. The graded system gives you that range.

 

Where Grade 3 sits

The TYGLY system runs from Grade 1 (softest) to Grade 5 (most textured). Grade 3 is the middle.

  • Softer: Grade 1 (bamboo-cotton), Grade 2 (soft muslin)
  • More textured: Grade 4 (heavy etamine), Grade 5 (dobby waffle)

Made using GOTS-certified organic cotton and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabrics.

Care instructions

Machine washable at 40°C. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry. Do not bleach. Do not iron.

The cloths soften with use and washing. Initial texture will settle after 2-3 washes.

Great start and end to the day

Beautiful product and I found the right cloth for me.

I have been tryong out a Discovery Box for 4 weeks.The box has 5 cloths in it and they are graded from 1 (very soft) to 5 (rough). The box is beautiful and I will keep this for other things, and the cloths are elegant. They are natural as well which is a big thing for me and there are no microfibers or plastics. I have used all the cloths and it is easy to see and feel the differences between them. I found the grade 2 to be the best for me but that is just personal preference. My skin has some sun damage and I am in my 50s so I have to be gentle. I found grade 2 to be smooth with some bite and I like to warm it in the morning and place it on my face. It feels special. I then use this just with water to slowly cleanse and clean my face. They are hard wearing and well made and I will be ordering more grade 2 cloths to keep me stocked up and so I can wash them regularly.
