Grade 2 — Soft 2-ply muslin. Gentle cleansing with light texture.

Grade 2 is a step up from Grade 1 in the TYGLY graded system. It introduces texture without losing softness. This is the grade for skin that wants more than the lightest touch, but not yet a scrubbing action.

Soft cotton muslin has a gentle weave that creates light grip. You feel the cloth working, but it doesn't feel rough.

What makes Grade 2 distinct

The 2-ply muslin construction gives Grade 2 more body than Grade 1, while maintaining a soft hand. The fabric has slight texture — enough to lift cleanser and light makeup more effectively than the smoothest grades.

Grade 2 works for daily cleansing when you want a clean feeling without exfoliation. It removes surface oils and residue without stripping or irritating.

When to use Grade 2

Use Grade 2 when your skin feels comfortable but could benefit from a little more cleansing action than Grade 1 provides.

This grade suits sensitive skin types who want effective cleansing, and normal skin types on gentler days. It's the bridge between pure softness and active texture.

Many customers rotate between Grade 1 and Grade 2 depending on how reactive their skin feels. The graded system lets you adjust daily.

Where Grade 2 sits

The TYGLY system runs from Grade 1 (softest) to Grade 5 (most textured). Grade 2 is the second step.

Made using GOTS-certified organic cotton and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabrics.

Care instructions

Machine washable at 40°C. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry. Do not bleach. Do not iron.

The cloths soften with use and washing. Initial texture will settle after 2-3 washes.

Dimensions

Standard face cloth size. Each cloth measures approximately 25cm x 25cm.

Texture at different times

Beautiful product and I found the right cloth for me.

I have been tryong out a Discovery Box for 4 weeks.The box has 5 cloths in it and they are graded from 1 (very soft) to 5 (rough). The box is beautiful and I will keep this for other things, and the cloths are elegant. They are natural as well which is a big thing for me and there are no microfibers or plastics. I have used all the cloths and it is easy to see and feel the differences between them. I found the grade 2 to be the best for me but that is just personal preference. My skin has some sun damage and I am in my 50s so I have to be gentle. I found grade 2 to be smooth with some bite and I like to warm it in the morning and place it on my face. It feels special. I then use this just with water to slowly cleanse and clean my face. They are hard wearing and well made and I will be ordering more grade 2 cloths to keep me stocked up and so I can wash them regularly.
